F.A.S.T. Development Camps for Spring/Summer 2011

I want to take a brief moment to introduce myself, John Swanson, owner of Functional Athletic Sports Training; known by some of you as FAST. Currently, we are going into my 5th year of developing individual athletes, teams and clientele. I have had the pleasure of training numerous athletes, such as.

  • Andreas Nodl (Former Husky, NHL Philadelphia Flyers)
  • Craig Gaudet (Former Husky, Farm Team for St. Louis Blues)
  • Ethan Prow (Husky Hockey Recruit)
  • Michael Eagle (2011 Tech Soccer Captain)
  • David Kenney (2011 Tech Soccer Captain)
  • Brandon Reinholtz (Tech Hockey Captain)
  • Matt Hansen (Colorado College D1)
  • Alex Stuart (Scared Heart College D1)
  • Holly Roberts ( SCSU Hockey 2nd All Time Leading Scorer)
  • Ryan Peckskamp (SCSU Hockey)
  • Ross Windfeldt (UND Football)
  • Mitch Hall (Tech Hockey Captain & USA Select 16)
  • Tommy Hall (St. Cloud Bantam A)
  • Peter O’Neal (St. Cloud Bantam A)
  • Wyatt Orth (Sauk Rapids Bantam A)

This is just a few of our current or past members.

Our most successful athlete’s come to us around the age of 12. At this age we prepare them for future training. We teach them proper bodyweight movements, nutrition and do many different dynamic exercises daily. We notice athletes that start at a young age are able to take greater strides in later years because of their solid foundation that was built in prior years.

I am trying to spread the word to give more athletes the opportunity to challenge their athletic ability day in and day out. My training is not for every athlete but for those who are committed and wish to take their performance to the next level; our training methods produce undisputed tangible results for all levels of fitness from children to elite athletes and everything in between.

Here is what your athletes can expect from a day of training at FAST:

They will begin with our 1 month "On Ramp Program". This program will meet 3 times per week for 4 weeks. Every workout is different. Our warm-ups usually consist of dynamic stretch, followed by full body exercises to prepare their muscles for the upcoming session, and we finish will foam rolling and muscle relaxation. After graduation of our On Ramp Program the athlete will move into our Level 1. From here on forward the athlete would advance each level according to their progress.

There isn't a strength and conditioning program anywhere that works with a greater diversity of tools, modalities, and drills.

This training program will run from May through September. We will offer several class times throughout the day to accommodate schedules. Athletes have the choice on how many months they train and how often per week. If you are interested in helping your son or daughter take their ability to the next level please contact us through email.

Thanks,

John W Swanson
