Sports Arena East Concession Stand Information

It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to complete the mandatory hours before the end of the season!

NEW POLICY FOR 2010-2011!!
ALL available hours for the concession stand will be posted on the website and available on a first-come, first-served basis.  NO priority weeks will be give to any teams!!  Families are responsible for checking the website and managing their time/volunteer hours so that the required hours are completed before the end of the season.

For the 2010-2011 season, TBD hours of concession stand work must be performed for each skater 

Per the SRYHA Handbook:

If you fail to complete all MANDATORY hours will be charged $20/hour for the hours not worked!

“A $25/hour penalty will be imposed to any worker not showing up for their scheduled shift.”

SRYHA leases the Concession Stand from Sports Arena East as a means of fundraising for the Association. Staffing the concession stand is the responsibility of each parent and is considered mandatory volunteer hours by SRYHA.

There is a "buy out" option of $20/hour per player. You may elect to "buy out" any or all your hours.  For example if you are required to work 15 hours and you elect to "buy out" all of them, the cost would be (15 hours x $20/hr) = $300.  If you worked 5  hours and elect to "buy out" the remaining 10 hours, the cost would be (10 hours x $20/hr) = $200.

If you are unable to complete all of your mandatory hours before the end of the season, you will be required to "buy out" the difference between your required hours and the hours you actually worked during the year.

You also have the option of contracting directly with someone else to work your hours for you. SRYHA provides a list of workers below that will work your hours for you. You will pay these workers $7.50/hour, they put your skaters name down when working and you will then be credited with the hours worked. If you wish to use this option, it is important to contact these people early in the season so they have adequate time to complete the hours.

NO ONE UNDER THE AGE OF 13 IS ALLOWED TO BE INSIDE THE CONCESSION STAND AREA!!  This is for liability insurance reasons and for their own safety as there are many HOT items - Please follow this rule!  ALL workers under the age of 18 MUST be supervised by someone over the age of 18 working with them.

NOTE: EACH TIME SLOT LISTED BELOW IS FOR ONE PERSON TO WORK ONE TIME SLOT.  THE DESCRIPTION WILL IDENTIFY HOW MANY SLOTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR EACH TIME SLOT.  THIS ALLOWS ONE TO TELL HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE SCHEDULED TO WORK.  FOR EXAMPLE, DURING A HOME STORM HIGH SCHOOL GAME, THERE IS THREE PEOPLE SCHEDULED FOR THE SAME HOURS.  THIS WOULD BE INDICATED BY (1 OF 3 SLOTS), (2 OF 3 SLOTS) AND (3 OF 3 SLOTS).  THIS MEANS THREE PEOPLE ARE WORKING.  IF YOU WANT TO WORK MORE THAN ONE PERSON, YOU HAVE TO SIGN UP FOR MORE THAN ONE SLOT.

To sign-up for any of these hours, click on the "Click to Volunteer" button on the right. This will bring up a "Volunteers Request" form. Complete the form and then click on the "Volunteer" button at the bottom of the page. You will be contacted to confirm your time slot. 

PLEASE BE SURE TO ENTER A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS WHEN YOU SUBMIT YOUR VOLUNTEER REQUEST OR IT MAY NOT BE PROCESSED CORRECTLY AND YOU MAY LOSE THE TIME SLOT!!
